What you write in Hearth is between you and Hearth. It is never shown to your spouse, never sold, never used for advertising.

What we store, and how

Your reflections and conversations are encrypted before they reach our database, with keys we manage in a dedicated key-management service. Your name and account details are stored separately from what you write. We keep structured safety indicators (never full transcripts) only as far as needed to respond well across time, and they expire.

What leaves our systems

To generate guidance, the minimum necessary context of what you write is processed by our AI model provider (Anthropic) under their API terms. Under standard terms the provider retains inputs and outputs on its own schedule (approximately 30 days) — so we will never promise "deleted everywhere instantly," because that would not be true. Your content is not used to train models without your separate, explicit consent.

Three controls, honestly labeled

Hide now removes content from your screen — it is hiding, not deletion. Delete conversation/history permanently deletes the selected content from Hearth's systems. Delete account (in the app, or via the web deletion page) deletes your account and data, subject to the legal and vendor-retention limits stated in the full policy.

What we never do

Hearth never contacts any organization, authority, or person on your behalf. No content in notifications. No ad-tech analytics. No routine human review of what you write — flagged safety cases only, access-logged, with raw text hidden by default.
